Tyr is the god of justice, law, and order — one of the most revered deities among paladins and those who uphold civilized society. He is depicted as a powerful warrior missing his right hand, lost in battle against the great wolf Kezef the Chaos Hound as an act of self-sacrifice to bind the beast. This sacrifice defines his faith: justice often demands personal cost.

Tyr is not merely about law — he represents the ideal that laws must be just, and that those in power have an obligation to use it righteously. He has little patience for corruption, tyranny dressed in legal language, or those who manipulate justice for personal gain.

Followers

Tyr’s followers are judges, paladins, city guards, magistrates, and anyone who upholds the rule of law in good faith. They are expected to be honest to a fault, to seek justice even when it is difficult, and to hold themselves to the same standards they hold others. His clergy are often called upon to mediate disputes, preside over trials, and root out corruption in institutions. They tend to be rigid, principled, and occasionally inflexible — a trait that earns both deep respect and occasional frustration.

Divine Relationships

Tyr is closely allied with Helm and Torm, forming a triad of lawful good deities often called the Triad. He is also allied with Ilmater, whose domain of suffering and martyrdom complements Tyr’s willingness to sacrifice for justice. His primary enemies are Bane, Cyric, and Mask, all of whom represent the corruption of order and law.
