Yondalla is the chief deity of the halfling pantheon and the divine mother of the halfling people, whom she is said to have created and guided to their place in the world. She embodies the core halfling virtues — warmth, practicality, community, and a fierce protectiveness of home and family. She is depicted as a young halfling woman of extraordinary beauty carrying a shield and a cornucopia, radiating an aura of safety and plenty.
Despite her gentle domains, Yondalla is no passive deity. She is fiercely protective of her people and her symbol — the shield alongside the horn of plenty — reflects this dual nature perfectly. She provides, but she also defends. She expects her followers to do the same.
Followers
Yondalla is worshipped almost exclusively by halflings, who honor her in daily life through hearth rituals, communal meals, and the protection of their communities. Her followers are expected to care for their families, welcome guests, protect the vulnerable, and find contentment in the simple pleasures of a well-tended home. Her clergy tend to serve as community leaders, mediators, and protectors rather than adventuring priests — though those who do venture out carry her protection with them. Followers tend to be warm, practical, and surprisingly stubborn when something they love is threatened.
Divine Relationships
Yondalla leads the halfling pantheon, known as Yondalla’s People, and maintains close relationships with all its members. She is allied with Chauntea, whose domains of hearth and harvest complement her own, and with Tyr and the Triad, whose investment in protecting the innocent aligns with her own fierce protectiveness. She opposes Cyric and Bane, whose cruelty and tyranny threaten the peaceful communities she cherishes. She has a warm relationship with Moradin and Corellon, as the three lead the racial pantheons of the smaller folk and have common cause in protecting their peoples.
