Bahamut is the god of good dragons and the embodiment of justice, wisdom, and the noble potential of dragonkind. He manifests as an ancient platinum dragon of immense power, though he often walks the mortal world in humble disguise as an old man accompanied by seven golden canaries — who are actually ancient gold dragons in polymorphed form. He is deeply invested in the mortal world and the struggle against evil.

Bahamut holds himself and his followers to an extremely high standard of conduct. He believes that power comes with obligation — those who are strong must use that strength to protect the weak, not to dominate them.

Followers

Bahamut is worshipped by good dragons, metallic dragonborn, paladins, and those who aspire to justice and wisdom. His followers are held to demanding standards — they must be brave, just, merciful, and never use their strength to bully or dominate others. His clergy tend to be knights and paladins who actively fight evil rather than simply defending the innocent. They tend to be noble, serious, and occasionally somewhat rigid in their high standards.

Divine Relationships

Bahamut’s eternal enemy is Tiamat, his sister and opposite, whose evil mirrors his own goodness. He is allied with Tyr and the Triad, sharing their lawful good alignment and commitment to justice. He has warm relationships with Corellon and Moradin. He deeply mourns the existence of chromatic dragons, viewing their corruption as a tragedy rather than simply an evil to be fought.
