Leader: Guild Master Grey — head of the guild, who oversees its charters, contracts, and Champions from the guildhall in Ciliren.
The Champions Guild was established on the 12th of June, 1025, in Ciliren, Eryndor’s largest city and the heart of gnomish innovation. The guild’s beginnings were humbler than its name suggests: it started when the founders took over ownership of a lumber business — and, unknowingly, every debt attached to it. Rather than work the trade, the founders put the lumber itself to use, rebuilding and upgrading the guildhall, and turned to adventuring to settle what was owed. Through contract work and hard-won victories, the guild paid off the debt in full and proved itself in the process, establishing the Champions Guild as one of Eryndor’s great adventuring guilds.
Its members, known as Champions, come from every walk of life: soldiers, spellcasters, scholars, and scoundrels. What unites them isn’t power but purpose. The guild’s badge is a shared name, a reputation, and a commitment to something greater than oneself — those who wear it are expected to uphold the guild’s values, stand by their allies, and protect the people of the land.
Champions rise through the guild’s ranks — from untested Prospects to legendary Grandmasters — as their deeds accumulate. The guild takes on work others cannot or will not: lost ruins, dangerous beasts, desperate towns, and matters too strange for local authorities.
Today the guild operates from its headquarters in Ciliren, with outposts in Talvereth and the Drakmir Dominion extending its reach across Eryndor.
