Savras is the god of divination, fate, and absolute truth — a deity who sees all things that were, are, and will be. He is depicted as a tall, bald man with a single giant eye in place of a normal face, radiating an aura of uncomfortable omniscience. He speaks only truth and requires the same of his followers, which makes him valuable and deeply uncomfortable to be around.
Savras was once imprisoned by Azuth, who trapped him in a staff to prevent his powers from causing chaos, and was only later released. This history of imprisonment has made him deeply invested in freedom from deception.
Followers
Savras attracts diviners, oracles, seers, and those who seek to know the future or uncover hidden truths. His followers are expected to speak only truth and to share what they foresee even when the vision is unwelcome. His clergy serve as advisors, oracles, and sometimes unwanted truth-tellers to powerful figures. They tend to be uncomfortably honest, deeply fatalistic, and calm in the face of terrible foreknowledge.
Divine Relationships
Savras has a complex relationship with Azuth, who imprisoned him, and with Mystra, in whose magical portfolio divination sits. He is allied with Oghma through their shared dedication to truth and knowledge. He opposes Cyric and Shar, whose deception and secrets are antithetical to his absolute commitment to revealed truth.
