Jeffro Goldbrook built Goldbrook & Co. into one of the empire’s great lending houses, promising “access to capital” while expanding into haulage.
Death
Jeffro Goldbrook was assassinated in his own home roughly three months before The Talvereth Crisis. His killer was never identified. The campaign to fill his vacant Council seat — widely seen as bought and rigged — convinced many that the whole system was corrupt, and became one of the sparks that ignited the riots. Goldbrook & Co. remains leaderless, and credit markets are destabilized.
