The Golden Chain is the subtler half of the Chain’s influence, focused on politics, leverage, bribery, and blackmail. Led by Valeke, the Golden Chain moves through respectable rooms more easily than dark shrines. It controls people through secrets, debts, favors, scandal, and access to restricted knowledge.
Its structure is practical and careful, built from fixers, corrupt officials, informants, collectors, fences, and quiet enforcers who act only when soft pressure fails. Its goal is ownership of influence rather than worship of power. In Lexovar, it may look like private brokerage around laboratories and archives. In other regions, it may appear as political consultants, blackmailers, or wealthy patrons with dangerous files.
