A myth of Sylvandar and the Woaden Groves
Thalwyn was older than some forests and more patient than stone. He defended the Woaden Groves from fire, steel, and time itself. It is said he once turned an invading army into a hillside of wildflowers. He could walk between trees, vanish into bark, and speak to seeds. His bow, carved from living root, grew new arrows whenever they were needed.
It is said he personally oversaw the planting of more than twenty Woaden trees — each of which took root and is inhabited to this day.
What Became of Him
No one knows what happened to the ancient elf. His body was never found.
Some say he was buried beneath a tree that never stops weeping. Others claim he became the forest itself — its roots his bones, its leaves his thoughts. Some say he sang to the trees, who gave him a special seed. When Thalwyn ate the seed, he became part tree — and defends the Woaden to this day.
The Thalwyn Trees
Scouts and rangers whisper to each other of a grove of trees that circles Sylvandar — unplanted, untended, and ever welcoming. They shelter archers and ensnare enemies.
Coincidence or not, they are called Thalwyn Trees.
