A dwarven myth of Kavzar
When the Stone Road collapsed, cutting off entire villages and cities, Braldun Karruk emerged alone from the molten ruin carrying a great axe — Stone’s Bane. It is said he forged it with his bare hands. His skin was scorched, his beard gone, but his eyes blazed with fire.
Axe in hand, he reforged the morale of survivors, led them across caved-in veins, and carved a path where none believed possible. Stone’s Bane sliced the very soul of stone and led the people onward. When his people were safe, he returned below without a word — only a great axe glowing with Fragment steel.
The Three Rings of the Axe
If you hear his axe ring once in the caverns of Kavzar, your forgework will never falter. If you hear it twice, your tools are cracked. If you hear it a third time — you are being summoned to follow.
Those Who Follow
Many dwarves over the years have left to pursue the deep tunnels where light does not shine except for the fire in their eyes. When pressed or restrained, they say only:
“I go to the Anvil Unbroken.”
They have never been followed. They have never been found.
The Banner in Battle
Battle-shocked dwarven warriors across the centuries have told stories. In the darkest moments of a losing fight — when the stone cracks open — dwarves clad in glowing armor charge toward death and glory. Always led by a dwarf with a glowing battle axe. Always bearing a single banner:
The Anvil Unbroken.
