The Bastions of Solara see themselves as divine guardians of law, peace, and order. Their public face is radiant virtue; their private reality includes power, tariffs, surveillance, and corruption hidden beneath ceremony. Solara’s diplomacy is built on moral authority, control of the Sacred Pass, and the belief that order is worth imposing.
General Reputation
Solara is admired in public and resented in private. Nations praise its courts, legions, and peacekeeping because it is dangerous not to. Yet most rulers know Solara profits from moral authority as surely as merchants profit from coin. Its light is real, but it is not always warm.
Primary Diplomatic Tensions
Solara’s great strength is legitimacy. It arbitrates disputes, controls the Sacred Pass, and helped force peace after terrible wars. Its great weakness is hypocrisy. Every nation has reason to use Solara, resent Solara, or fear being judged by Solara.
