Vorth

Vorth is the storm-heart of the Drakmir Dominion, built around the Stormspire — a half-mile tower of blue-black crystal that rises from the earth above the city. No record explains who made it, how deep it reaches, or why storms gather so easily around its height.

The Stormspire is studied constantly, but never fully understood. Its surface carries old marks that do not match any known script, and its inner light changes with weather, season, and magic used nearby. The Dominion has surrounded it with wards, instruments, academies, and law, but even Vorth’s best scholars speak carefully about what they truly know.

Beneath the Stormspire lies the Shardstorm Vein — a volatile Fragment mine threaded through deep stone and charged by the same forces that gather around the tower above. Fragments pulled from its depths often hum with static, glow under pressure, or discharge energy when handled carelessly. The tower and the mine are treated as one connected system.

Districts

The Crackling Court — Rises closest to the Stormspire. Air tingles against the scales and every tower is grounded with silver rods and warded stone. Senior mages and ranking theorists live here.

The Storm Keep — At the base of the spire; Vorth’s great academy of spellcraft and arcane warfare. Students learn early that talent without control is not admired.

Tempest Hollow — Holds the lives that keep the city running. Homes built from reinforced basalt and fragmentglass, with storm gutters, grounding chains, and public shelters.

The Conduction Market — Covered plazas where charged goods pass through careful hands under retractable ward-domes.

The Surge Yards — Outer edge of the city where experimental engines, spell batteries, storm armor, and battlefield conduits are tested behind thick walls.

The Shardstorm Descent — Begins below the Stormspire and sinks through sealed lifts into the Fragment mine. Tunnels lined with copper-black rails, warning bells, and prayer marks.

Leadership

Scale Bearer Vellior Thazarn — Silver-scaled archmage whose calm feels almost unnatural beneath the city’s constant thunder.

Dean Rhessira Flamecoil — Leads the Storm Keep with the harsh certainty of a former general. Little patience for students who confuse power with mastery.

Artificer-Master Yillix the Bold — White-scaled kobold with frost-tipped whiskers, scarred hands, and a reputation for surviving disasters that should have ended his career.

Marshal Cael Drakrin — Commands the city guard. Bronze dragonborn veteran with old scars and a precise understanding of how quickly magical arrogance can become mass death.

Minewarden Sikka Voltclaw — Blue-scaled kobold. Jeweled prosthetic eye that flickers when unstable Fragments are near.

High Surveyor Othrix Vael — Keeps records of the Stormspire’s changes. Soft-spoken green dragonborn whose left hand turned glass during a failed survey ritual.
